Reading Time: 2 Minute/s

We know Medicare and all the terms like E.O.C. and AEP are confusing. There are a lot of acronyms and plan names that are just letters to sort through, and Medicare members have a short window to select a plan to meet their health needs and budget for the following year.

We sat down with some of our Medicare experts to ask some basic questions to help define some terms and things it is important to know. The Question & Answers is separated into two parts below. Each part is under 5 minutes.

Part 1

In this first part, we talk with Jordan & Brisa about the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, what the different parts of Medicare mean, the advantage of a Medicare Advantage plan, and what to consider if you are 65+ and have your insurance through work.

(English/ Español)

Meet Brisa Guajardo

Brisa has more than 17 years of health insurance experience and 15 years with the plan. She has extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and related health plans. Brisa is fluent in English and Spanish. Brisa was interviewed in Spanish.

Meet Jordan Wright

Jordan comes to CHPW with 18 years of experience working in the healthcare field. She has a background in nursing, healthcare administration and sales and insurance. Jordan was interviewed in English.

Part 2

In this second part, we ask about the differences between Medicare and Medicaid, if you can be eligible for both, along with what happens if you have Medicare bills you can’t pay.
